Is it Fall Season Already?

Updated: Sep 4, 2021

Welcome to Malaya Dharma!

Your partner in yoga and wellness.

Hello and welcome to our first blog! My name is Malaya and I am very excited to welcome you to Malaya Dharma.

One of Malaya Dharma's logo,

Malaya Dharma was founded to share my love for yoga.

I was introduced to yoga back in 2012 when my friends and I went to the Global Mala Project in the Philippines. It was a whole day of different yoga sessions where we could pick what we want to attend. I picked all the yoga sessions my friends and I went to except for the first one.

The first session we attended was 108 Namaskar. I thought it was just a name so I said, Okay, let's do it! I didn't know it was 108 sets of sun salutations. I can't remember enough details if we did Surya A or not, but we definitely did a lot of Surya B and I remember thanking my friend - and yes, we are still friends - sarcastically in a lighthearted funny way while doing the poses. After everything, I didn't know how I finished the whole 108 sets and even managed to do the entire day of different yoga sessions. I had so much fun!

Did I practice yoga regularly after this? No. I practiced yoga on and off for years but since a couple of years ago, I have tried to practice yoga regularly.

We all know that life happens. We all encounter distress and a lot of times, we encounter this negative stress regularly - be it at home, at work, at school, anywhere. So like others, I had been constantly stressed. During these times, I was fortunate enough to find time to come to yoga classes every day for a month, and during that short time, I noticed that I became calmer and more at peace with myself.

I took the initial yoga teacher training because I wanted to know more about anatomy and alignment, on how to do the poses correctly. Without proper alignment in any type of physical activity that we do, we risk our bodies to physical injury. In having proper alignment, we can reap more benefits out of any physical activity. This is also true with yoga, however, it is not only a physical activity, but it is also more for it aims to harmonize our mind, body, and soul.

Sharing To Those Who Are Willing

Yoga has been my form of meditation. I have found it and it has found me. I have found peace in yoga and want to share the same benefits I get from yoga and probably more if you let me.

Everything is a process and every good thing takes time to happen. That's why I urge you to try and also to be patient with the process.

Malaya in Kakasana (Crow's Pose).

If you happen to attend one of our classes, please feel free to leave a testimonial and review at the bottom part of our website. Constructive feedback and suggestions are also welcomed. Malaya Dharma is always striving to be better.

Thank you so much!

Namaste.

Sincerely,
